Jeff, thanks for that. Yes, the Bishop Repeater is a good one and I used it today. I came up early so I can check with Forest Service on Camp Fires. Some showers here today. A little cooler in town than last year. Its about 75 degrees right now. at 8:30 pm. I will be monitoring both frequencies. I will try to alert everyone as soon as I get into the Forest Service. This should be a great trip!!!u
We will also be monitoring 145.555, our usual Land Ops frequency.
Getting ready to head out in the morning. I have not seen a communications plan yet so I am assuming we will be using our normal Land Ops simplex frequency. In addition here are a few repeaters I will be monitoring on the drive up. El Paso Peak which is north of Randsburg and south of Ridgecrest along the 395. Alabama Hills, Mizorka Peak and Bishop. The last three are linked and provide excellent coverage along the 395. I am pretty sure we could hit the Bishop repeater from camp last time out and I will probably check into their net at least once (nightly at 2000 hrs). Safe travels and see you in Bishop!

I really wish I was going on this trip. I have another one planned for these same dates. I look forward to the next time Land Ops goes here. Hopefully not too far into the future.
Maybe we can do a Mojave road trip in the future too...
We are about two weeks away from departure day for our upcoming overland op. I have been following reports from the area, and we should have a great trip. I have heard that due to winter weather that the rough spots are a little tougher, but not seriously. We are confirming that only 4x4 with low range vehicles are allowed for the trip. Depending on weather the next two weeks, the Green Lake overlook trail ,ay open up. Right now it’s still snowed in. The mosquitoes are out in force, so plan to bring your repellent. Nights will be cold...probably in the 30’s at night. As of now, fire restrictions are not in effect so we might be able to have fires. Stay tuned!
