Coyote Flat Special Event Net- We will be having a 75-meter voice net at 8 PM for 3 nights starting on Thursday Sept 20 and ending on Saturday Sept 22. The primary frequency is 3.905 MHz or up if busy.
We will also be having a digital net on Saturday Sept 22. We will be using Contestia 8/250 on 75-meter frequency 3.582.5 MHz, Audio Center marker 1200 Hz.
Please tune in when you can. This will be great practice for our upcoming Dual Base Op event on Nov 10.
Don’t forget that we have a weekly voice net every Saturday on 75-meter at 8 PM, primary frequency is 3.905 MHz or up if busy.
Although we are flexible on this trip, we most likely will base camp and venture out daily to different trails. Past trips have camped at the edge of Baker Meadow near the South end of the Flat. Depending on the number of vehicles, and how many others are in the area, the location may be changed to a more central location in the Flat. This trip will be more exploratory in nature, with some downtime to relax, hike, fish or...
If you have never been to Coyote Flat, it is a beautiful place, hard to believe that there is a 10 mile long plateau at about 10,000 feet.

Just checked with Inyo Forest and campfires or charcoal grills are not allowed at this time due to FIRE Restrictions. Gas camp stoves and lanterns are ok as long as you have a valid campfire permit, which you can get free online.

Coyote Flat Weather
For those of you going on the Coyote Flat Overland Trip, the link above is to a localized weather forecast for Coyote Flat. As you plan your gear, you should know that daytime temps will probably be high 60’s-low 70’s. Night time temps will probably be in the low - mid 40’s. Please plan your clothing and gear appropriately. Also, due to the high altitude, water consumption is a high priority to minimize chance of altitude sickness. Remember we will be camping around 10,000 feet. If possible, bring 5 gal of extra fuel.
