Land Ops - The Off Road, Navigation and Amateur Radio Search Club
I’m camped 200 feet SE of the shower tent (heading of 150 degrees from the showers, next to the chain link fence)
I'll be missing this one. You all have a safe trip and take some pictures for me.
I'm heading out Friday, staying thru Sunday. I'll monitor our frequency.
See ya all there!
Barry and I are heading to flagstaff tomorrow.
We will be working at the event on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We will be camping at Munds Camp Ground outside of town.
Thanks for the update Keith
This just in from Overland Expo regarding the event frequency and call sign!
RADIO COMMUNICATIONS: 146.46 will be our primary simplex frequency. Event call sign is K7E.
I will be at the Camel Trophy Skills area almost the whole time, assisting 7P International.
As we get near, light incense, chant and sacrifice virgins in the hopes that I'm there with my Land Rover with mobile HF and VHF comms installation all finished and operating.
Find the Coconino Radio Club in the vendor display area. They always set up a Field Station and if you're interested in getting or upping your Ham license, they (in the past, at least) administer the tests at Overland Expo.
Also, there is a VHF Simplex frequency dedicated to Overland Expo. Last year it wasn't well advertised and we all hope the word gets out this year.
Yes, I'm signed up for the full package. I haven't figured out my travel plans yet.
Is anyone going?
I will be heading out Thursday afternoon.
Joining some people for an overland trip to horseshoe bend, antelope canyon, north rim camping and then a day in Zion before heading back monday.
