Land Ops - The Off Road, Navigation and Amateur Radio Search Club
Right on! Looking forward to making contacts and getting functional.
Chris, possibly. But we will just have to see. I think experimenting like this is a much fun as operating.
So, I've got the HF in the mobile and it's functional thanks to help from Rick Bean W8KO. Looking forward to this.
We should coordinate with the stations that cannot make it so we can test HF comms.
Rick, if Don will be in Joshua Tree is he only reachable by NVIS? Will a vertical (DX) antenna just skip over him if he's too close?
I think as we get more involved with HF and long distance comms, even when you can't attend an op, you might be able to participate.
I will try and schedule some time just to make contact with those monitoring from home.
Candy and I will not be able to go to this op, but I can hopefully participate from home.
That will be great Donald. We can try to schedule comms. What bands can you cover? We will probably be on 40 or 80 meters.
Chris,
For the November HF Recon, I won't be able to join in person, but I hope to have my RV rig up that weekend north of Joshua Tree.
Perhaps you can keep me updated on your frequency.,,
Yes, that sounds good. I will be heading up to the Sierra OP Thusday night so we might have some time Friday.
I am also OK with getting together more locally. Let talk more next weekend. I will have my HF base station and HF mobile there.
Rick, Perhaps we can arrange either before, during or immediately after some of the up coming ops. Otherwise if we meet somewhere in the middle between OC and Tem. I'm up to join some short 1/2 day outings.
Sure.
