The Red Rock Canyon State Park Preliminary General Plan Revision process started in 2018 and was due to be completed in 2020, but was interrupted due to COVID-19.  After a two year delay, California State Parks Department has now released the preliminary General Plan and draft Environmental Impact Report.  The proposed plan changes motorized access that could result in trail closures including iconic trails such as Nightmare Gulch and portions of Last Chance Canyon.
