So I’m curious for those using Hf digital equipment, what is the general concensus on digital software to do digital? Many options out there, with varying difficulty of user interface, etc. is it worth the $99 for Ham Radio Deluxe for example or struggle through the interface of fldigi?
Rick and Tim both use Ham Radio Deluxe so it was a easy choice for me. It does it all, rig control, digital and logging. It’s a very nice package. Took me some time to get it all set up. Hint. Keep track of your passcodes that you get when signing up. You will need them. Greg
Installed HRD on laptop and got it to connect to radio. But my head is spinning about the digital formats and how to actually use it. I’ll bring with me and maybe you guys can Elmer me a bit.
Jim, I'll be glad to help what I can. HRD will send you a postcard in snail mail that has a password that I think you will need. Greg
Jim, yes there is a lot to it. The #1 thing that gets setup wrong is the wrong soundcard.
The easiest way is to go over the settings one by one with someone who already has it working. It doesn't take too long and once you start to use it, it really is pretty easy.
