Land Ops - The Off Road, Navigation and Amateur Radio Search Club
For those of you studying for your Technician license, I can suggest a great app for Iphones and Ipads called Ham Radio Exam - Tech, published by Roy Watson N1ZTL. A link to the Itunes store is https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ham-radio-exam-tech/id601991935?mt=8. It allows you to not only study the answers, but it also has practice tests, and will give you feedback on the sections of the exam that you need additional study. For those studying for the General License, there is an app from the same publisher as well. The General questions are good for another year, however the app for Technician now includes the new questions pool that starts this month.
I just received an email from Rodney Macie, he just past his Ham licensed test (old questions) KK6NXA. I'm hoping he'll be on the forum soon.
Thanks for the tip Jim....

With all the plans for HF and concurrent radio ops I'm planning to take my general test on Saturday July 8th, 2017 in Cypress. I'm using flashcards to study. This is how I aced the technicians test. When I'm done with my flashcards I can share them with someone else that might want to use them to study and pass.
To make the leap from Technician to General I used
https://hamstudy.org/general2015
Sign up and it tracks your progress as you run through the flash-card type Q&A. For the answers you fail or just don't know about, the background for the answer is a click away.
You can do practice tests to measure when you're ready to go for it.
Since it's web based, it will work on any platform.
There's lots a great study resources out there, as already pointed to. This is just another one.
Hey Keith,
Thanks for sharing. I used a set of paper flash cards I picked up at HRO. I combined my studies with hamtestonline. My first practice test without studying I got a miserable 37% (failed).
After studying and using the online practice test for about 2 weeks I aced my General test. Extra here I come. Well maybe not so fast.
