Wondering if anyone has used IHikeGps on their iPad or iPhone?  Looked at others but this looks pretty good.  Welcome comments...

Jim, Does IHikeGPS run off internal GPS?

It can work of either internal GPS if you have a 4G Ipad, or use a bluetooth device like the DualXGPS if you only have a WiFi Ipad.  I played with the software a bit on the Big Bear trip, but didn't have time to put through its paces...

It takes some getting used to the interface for downloading maps.  However, it has both the USGS Topo and the Forest Service Topo.  Not all areas have Forest Service Topo.   Once you have a map, you just tap the screen after your scroll off the existing map to download another map adjacent.  It only downloads maps a quad at a time, but it stitches them together to make them useful.

I'll keep playing with it on the Ipad and Iphone.
