Land Ops is going to the Sierra for a 4-day trip

• Location has been set at 37.6932, -118.98733, which is located off 3S22F, off of the Mammoth Scenic Loop Road. Turnoff to Mammoth Scenic Loop is 37.709028,-118.952736  (Base Camp Location in lower left corner of map shown above.  Camp site is approximately 3.7 miles from Hwy 395.
• Thursday 8/27 - Advanced Team arrives to secure site
• Friday 8/28 - Arrival of other Operators
• Saturday 8/29 - Recon area to be determined.
• Sunday 8/30 - Recon of areas to the east and north.  Possible trip to Bodie through Mono Lake.
• Monday 8/31 - Pack up and head home

Possible HF communications with Burning Man and others tbd.

• Fire restrictions are in place in the Inyo Forest, so no open fires, charcoal fires or smoking.  Gas stoves and firepits are OK.
• This is primitive camping so plan for your personal hygiene and water accordingly.
• Talk in Frequency is 145.555 simplex.  The NW6C Repeater located at the summit of Mammoth Mountain should provide coverage in the area.  Frequency is 146.730-, PL 100.0.  It is linked to other repeaters operated by the Bishop Amateur Radio Club and is an OPEN repeater.  N6OV 146.940-,PL103.5 is on Silver Peak above Bishop.  W6TD 146.760-,PL103.5 is on Mazourka Peak, Northeast of Independence.  Please program these as back-up.
• Cheapest fuel along the way is Bishop, approximately 60 miles South of camp.  Fuel in Mammoth is around $6.59 and about $1.00 cheaper in Bishop.

This is primarily a camp and explore event, with a flexible schedule.  Weather may determine some of our routes and activities.
