Friday January 17, 2025

·         Early arrivals hold base camp area with initial recon of Op area.

·         This will be an Explore and Play Op

·         Afternoon arrivals by setup team

·         Early arriving participants and guests setup their camps.

·         Campfires and comradery abound into the evening-

NOTE THAT FIRE RESTRICTIONS MAY BE IN PLACE.

·         Members and participants skilled in night navigation arrive throughout the evening

10:00 AM Op Orientation
Explore and Play possible routes include Summit Road, Amy’s Wash, Red Canyon Trail, Red Cloud Mine and Queen Esther Mine.

SUNDAY January 19, 2025

Depart for Quartzfest, Quartzite, AZ

COMMUNICATIONS

Vehicle Communications

Vehicle to vehicle comms will be 2 meter for hams and/or FRS for non-hams. Frequencies will follow Land Ops Freq Plan.

2 meter primary frequency = 145.555 MHz
FRS = channel 1 (no privacy code)

Net Control Communications

·         VHF/UHF - Vehicles will communicate with net control on 2 meter and/or UHF depending upon crossband repeater setups.

·         HF – nets will be based on available operators

·         APRS – turn it on if you have it for shared awareness
