If the setup team decides that primary basecamp is not workable the team will choose a basecamp within .25 to 1 mile of the coordinates above. Please be prepared to contact on either FRS channel 1 (no privacy code) OR 145.555 MHz

BASECAMP LOCATIONS - TBD

THURSDAY APR 21, 2022

  • Thursday afternoon and PM the advance team arrives to the area of operation to establish basecamp, setup camp and prepare to deploy course on Friday.

FRIDAY APR 22, 2022

  • 9:00 AM Net control goes live to manage radio traffic for arriving participants and setup operations.
  • 12:00 PM Early check-in station opens at noon. Note: On this op the check in team might be assisting in cache deployment. Use radio contact to establish check in. 145.555MHz or FRS 1
  • Additional supporting members arrive throughout the day.
  • Early arriving participants and guests setup their camps.
  • Campfires and comradery abound into the evening
  • Members and participants skilled in night navigation arrive throughout the evening

SATURDAY APR 23, 2022 
This will be a 7 CACHE NAV-COMM OP with unique cache instructions.

COMMUNICATIONS

Vehicle Communications

Vehicle to vehicle comms will be 2 meter for hams and/or FRS for non-hams. Freqs to be announced
2 meter primary frequency = 145.555 MHz
FRS = channel 1 (no privacy code)

Net Control Communications

  • VHF/UHF - Vehicles will communicate with net control on 2 meter and/or UHF depending upon crossband repeater setups.
  • HF – nets will be based on available operators
  • APRS – turn it on if you have it for shared awareness
