DEVELOP RADIO SKILLS Ham radio operators may volunteer to support this race at various stages. If you haven't done this yet it is a great way to learn and develop your radio skills no matter what level you are. Many of the locations require 4x4 or high clearance vehicles.

At some stations you can set up, take a chair and report to net control to maintain safety and control of the race event.
If you don't have all the gear like you see in the photo above..no problem. You will be assigned to help a station where you may be using a setup like this or simply a handy talkie.
It is official - the 2020 Kodiak 100 foot races will be held September 11 and 12 - yes, that's Friday and Saturday.
And this year current planning calls for the 100-mile race to start at 6 a.m. Friday, 12 hours earlier than 2019. That means that aid station hours will be 12 hours earlier than last year. That gives you a rough idea of when the aid station you worked at last year would be operational in 2020.
I am told that only the start time will change, all else will remain the same - including the course direction and aid station locations.
