MAJOR EVENT LOCATION CHANGE!

Meet & Greet / Mini Op / Poker Run
Saturday June 1, 2019 10:00 AM

We are going to mix it up this trip with a Meet & Greet to welcome visitors to the club and to hold a Poker Run to explore Burns Canyon Road, East of Big Bear and West of Yucca Valley.  The meetup location is along Pioneertown Road, in the community of Pioneertown.  We will have a Meet & Greet meeting and then depart on the trail to have some fun and explore a trail that many have never explored.  Please allow sufficient travel time as we want to get started on time.

This is a perfect opportunity to get to know Land Ops and your 4x4 vehicle.

The Trail will be 2N02, which winds from near Pioneertown West toward Big Bear, finishing at the East side of Baldwin Lake.  The trail is easy to moderate.  All stock 4x4 vehicles should easily make the trail, however some all wheel drive SUV's may struggle at a couple of spots due to clearance.  Low Range vehicle is not mandatory.  The trail should take no more than 3 hours.  All vehicles should bring the following:

  • A chair for everyone in you vehicle primarily for the Meet & Greet portion of the day.
  • Lunch, water and snacks for everyone in your vehicle.
  • Be sure your vehicle has a spare tire, and the usual offroad trail gear.
  • Be sure you have a gps in the vehicle.  A handheld gps will not be necessary.
  • Ham Radio or FRS Radio.
  • Jacket-it will be cooler once the group gets to Big Bear area.

Mini Op
A mini op is a scaled down version of the club's standard  "nav-comm" exercise where teams work together to find hidden instruction caches that provide basic challenges in driving, navigation and radio communications.
