NEW PARTICIPANTS AND LONG TIME MEMBERS ALIKE WILL ALL GET SOMETHING SIGNIFICANT OUT OF THIS OP.

UPDATE!  All terrain tires are required with full size spare.  Access road is 2N01 off Hwy 38.  Forest Service roads in the area are very rocky at this time.

THURSDAY JUL 28, 2022

  • Early arrivals hold base camp area. This will be a deploy and play op so Thursday arrival is not necessary.

FRIDAY JUL 29, 2022

  • Afternoon arrivals by setup team (Land Ops One Arrives by 2 PM)
  • Early arriving participants and guests setup their camps.
  • Route assessments
  • Campfires and comradery abound into the evening-NOTE THAT FIRE RESTRICTIONS ARE IN PLACE. NO WOOD OR CHARCOAL FIRES OR BBQS.
  • Members and participants skilled in night navigation arrive throughout the evening

SATURDAY JUL 30, 2022 
10:00 AM Op Orientation
11:00 AM Team Meetings (Alpha and Bravo)
11:30 AM DEPLOY SEGMENT STARTS

LUNCH AT RENDEZVOUS SITE

1:30 PM  DEPLOY legs complete at base

BREAK - ONE HOUR - REGROUP
teams switch legs - ready for PLAY segment of operation

2:45 PM LAUNCH PLAY (ETA 2 hours)

5:00 PM RTB - Standard basecamp activities

Overnight camping and comradary 

COMMUNICATIONS

Vehicle Communications

Vehicle to vehicle comms will be 2 meter for hams and/or FRS for non-hams. Freqs to be announced
2 meter primary frequency = 145.555 MHz
FRS = channel 1 (no privacy code)

Secondary communication on Big Bear repeater K6BB 147.330 +, 131.8 pl

Net Control Communications

  • VHF/UHF - Vehicles will communicate with net control on 2 meter and/or UHF depending upon crossband repeater setups.
  • HF – nets will be based on available operators
  • APRS – turn it on if you have it for shared awareness
