Any word yet on what the communications plan will be and what frequencies we will be using?  I would like to get my radios programmed up and ready to roll.

    Jeff,

Official Comm Plan is on the event page, I think...

Primary Freq is 2m simplex 145.525 MHz
    Secondary is 145.555 MHz.

But I don't think the repeater (primary) will be set up until Friday afternoon some time (Hoping I can help John with that).  If time, space, and Chris allow, I will also be setting up my hipster HF radio in the command tent with a regular net set for 18:00 on Friday and Saturday (with my neighbor in Mission Viejo).  I'm hoping I will be working net control, so will also be able to monitor HF as an aside, along with our usual VHF traffic.

If anyone is interested in letting nerdy loved ones know, I'll have the rig set up on 14.250 on the 20 Meter band.   This is totally 'off-the-books', but I figured it's a good way to connect in case we were out of cel range, and needed a long throw.

We will be using the new 145.525 for the simplex communication.  This was primarily due to a repeater using the 145.555 for it's output.  Use the 145.525 while traveling as well as during the Op unless net control advises otherwise.  Also Big Bear Repeater gets all the way to at least Randsburg if simplex is too distant.  From the fuel stop in Olancha, we were able to talk simplex to the base camp area.

Thanks all.  Radios all programmed up and the trailer is packed.  All I need now is to pack the food and clothing and I am good to go.  I still can not leave until noon Friday but you can never be ready too early! See you all soon.

Jeff, It sounds like you'll be arriving at sunset on Friday. I should have the base antenna up by then. Be sure to tune to 145.525 primary. 145.555 is now a secondary freq.
